On Wednesday, October 4, 2017, the Arizona Lottery held their first-ever, puppy-drawn lottery called The Puppy Pick! The pick aired live via Facebook, and the video can be seen here.
Some of AHS’ cutest adoptable puppies were given time to play in a miniature yard for one minute each, and the last ball they had played with was the “puppy pick.” Each ball held a number from 1-11 inside, and the person who chose the winning numbers would be offered a $1,000 prize.
Nobody picked the winning numbers, so the Arizona Lottery chose to donate the prize money to AHS instead… plus, an additional $1,000!
We are so thankful for this amazing partnership! Our friends at the Arizona Lottery recently gave AHS a grant that supports our Community Engagement department’s Compassion in the Classroom programs. These programs provide age/grade appropriate lessons which include a wide range of STEM-focused hands-on learning with live animal interactions.
