Sweet Military Homecoming Reunion!
Symone was Deployed with the U.S. Air Force in December 2016 and Needed a Safe Place for her Cat, Asheton, While She Was Away.
She enlisted AHS’ help and through our Project Active Duty program, we provided a loving foster home for Asheton for the last 7 months. Symone returned last week from duty and was reunited with Asheton on Sunday!
Launched as a response to the September 11th attacks, AHS started Project Active Duty as a way to give back to the brave men and women serving our country. This program allows loving pet owners leaving for a tour of duty to entrust their pets with AHS, providing not only a peace of mind during their deployment, but comfort knowing that when they return, their pet will be waiting for them. Since the program began, we have helped 66 service men and woman by placing their 89 pets in foster homes!

Thanks to PetSmart Charities, we are able to offer active duty members of the military, like Symone, care for the animals of those who are protecting us around the world.
