A Whole Lot of Love: Campaign Raises $56,000 For Homeless Pets
The Arizona Humane Society thanks all of you who helped make our Paws for Love campaign a smashing success. Thanks to the generous support of thousands of Safeway shoppers throughout Arizona, we raised $56,000 in support of our homeless pets.
What does that mean for our animals in need? A whole lot of love! That amazing sum is enough to provide any of the following:
• Food, toys and vaccinations for more than 2,200 animals for one week
• Spay or neuter surgery for nearly 750 dogs or 1,900 cats
• Medication for every animal in our Second Chance Animal Hospital™ for 22 weeks
• Saves the lives of 56 severely injured animals
Paws for Love was a month-long campaign throughout February in which shoppers at all 115 Arizona Safeway locations were able to donate upon checkout to AHS’ lifesaving programs and services.
AHS is so grateful to Safeway, as well as our media friends – 3TV and Mix 96.9 – for partnering with us and supporting our animals while they wait for their forever homes.
But most of all, thanks to those who donated and showed that neglected animals really aren’t neglected, that homelessness doesn’t equate to heartlessness, and that few things heal injuries quite as well as compassion.
You made a huge difference in our animals’ lives and they thank you with tail wags and purrs.
