Victory: Legislative Session Ends Without Passage of Bills Weakening Animal Cruelty Protections!
Supporters, our voices have been heard.
After more than two months of tireless outreach, dozens of meetings, hundreds of phone calls and countless emails, the Coalition of Animal Protection Organizations is thrilled to report that the 2014 Arizona legislative session concluded last night without the passage of SB1267/HB2587 – arcane bills that would have significantly weakened Arizona’s cruelty protections for animals. Your advocacy, coupled with the united support of many local and national animal welfare groups as well as the collaborative work of coalition partners, including the Animal Cruelty Taskforce of Southern Arizona, Animal Defense League of Arizona, Animal Legal Defense Fund, Arizona Coalition for Equines, Arizona Humane Society, ASPCA, Humane Society of Southern Arizona, the Humane Society of the United States and Humane Voters of Arizona contributed to this very important victory. Thank you.
We look forward to working with you, our state legislature, as well as city and county officials, to promote policy that improves the lives of all of Arizona’s animals.
Again, thank you for your unwavering support.
