Brothers Ike and Eddie Basha Sr. opened the first Bashas’ supermarket in 1932 just outside of Chandler. Since then, their market has been part of the fabric of Arizona, which now boasts more than 100 stores statewide under multiple banners.
This summer, the friendly neighborhood grocer celebrates its 90th anniversary, and in honor of this momentous milestone, Bashas’ is donating $50,000 to the winner of their Community Choice Charity Challenge.
“We are honored to celebrate our 90th anniversary with our team members, customers, vendors, and charity partners,” said Edward “Trey” Basha, president of Bashas’ and grandson of one of the company’s founders. “I’d like to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone for their continued support. Our goal is to express our gratitude and use this milestone as an opportunity to be of additional service to our communities.”
The Arizona Humane Society is thrilled to be in the race. Just think of all the homeless, sick, and abused pets we can help with such a generous contribution.
This challenge is broken into five voting phases, featuring 32 non-profits, and only those organizations that receive the highest votes in each phase will move forward. But, with your help, our pets are confident we can go all the way.
The fifth phase has begun and runs today, September 12th, through Sunday, September 18th, at 11:59 p.m. We would love your support. Each voting phase allows you to vote once per electronic device. Simply click the button below and select the Arizona Humane Society to show our pets how much you care.
Our puppies, kitties, and critters are counting on you! Click here to view official rules or visit Bashas’ for details. Please see the table below for the entire voting schedule and check this blog each phase for an updated voting link!
Thank you for voting and helping to support the Arizona Humane Society and our community’s most valuable pets.
