Foster Heroes Needed For Moms & Pups

After being transferred to AHS from other shelters through its partner assistance program, Project Reachout, we are seeking Foster Heroes for our new moms and their puppies, whose ages range from one to six-weeks-old.

Foster Heroes are needed for the following moms and pups until their little ones are eight weeks of age and ready for adoption:

• Cupid and Her Valentines (pictured right): One-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier and her eight four-week-old puppies (mom and puppies will need separate foster homes)
• Donna and Her Darlings (pictured above): Two-year-old Labrador retriever and her seven one-week-old puppies (foster home together)
• Maisie Mae (pictured below): Pregnant three-year-old German Shepherd

Until they are placed in a Foster Hero home, all 21 moms and pups are currently receiving medical care in AHS’ Mutternity Suites, a quiet, medically-supervised area for pregnant and nursing dogs to give birth and care for their puppies. This lifesaving space is currently full and cannot take in more vulnerable moms and their pups, which is what makes the need for Foster Heroes so great.

We provide Foster Heroes with everything they need, including medical care, food, toys, blankets, and more. All the foster home needs to provide is a quiet space with lots of love and care.
